Big Bucks on your PC & phone

Install once to open Quote Desk from your apps in its own window. After the first online load, you can open and edit quotes offline. Sync still runs only when you press Sync.

  1. Open the online Quote Desk in the same browser and profile you already use for your quotes.
  2. Choose Install app below, or use the install icon in the address bar. In Edge, you can also use … → More tools → Apps → Install this site as an app. In Chrome, look under ⋮ → Cast, save and share → Install page as app.
  3. Open Big Bucks from Start and pin it to your taskbar if you want.

Android phone · Chrome

  1. Open the same online Quote Desk link in Chrome.
  2. Choose Install app, or use ⋮ → Add to Home screen → Install. The menu wording can vary by phone.
  3. Open Big Bucks from your home screen or app drawer.

Connect a new phone or staff device

Use the existing encrypted .bbqconnect connection file and its code. Open Sync setup, select that file, enter the code and give this device a different label, such as PHONE or STAFF. Then press Sync to load shared quotes. Press Sync again whenever you want to send or receive changes. You do not need to run the server setup again.

Installing this online site in the same browser/profile keeps its saved quotes and connection. If you used a downloaded HTML file, first back up its quotes, restore that backup on this online site and import your existing connection file/code. A different device or browser has its own local copy. Keep backups before changing browsers or clearing app data. Private browsing is unsuitable for keeping quotes. Firefox for Windows can install this site using its address-bar web apps button (Add tab to taskbar).

Check and update HTML

Current program: . Updates come from your separate Big Bucks bucket through quote-updates.wildledger.org. This does not run quote Sync.

Use your main Quote Desk HTML, rather than an editable quote copy. Save or discard changes before updating. Keep the same filename, folder and browser profile to retain access to local saves and your remembered Sync connection.

Firefox cannot overwrite a local file automatically. Download the verified replacement, save it over the original HTML, then reopen the original. The browser may save a second copy instead; check the folder before reopening. Backups below include saved quotes and all prices.

Saved quotes

Find past offers by seller, quote number, contact details, goods or notes. Results use saved changes on this device; press Sync to load changes from other devices.

Keep your quotes for later

Saved quotes: use Save quote or Save changes to confirm your edits. Unsaved work is kept as a recovery draft on this device and is excluded from Sync. Use Discard changes to return to the saved version. Sync asks you to save or discard first. Select a quote from the list to edit it again.

Save editable copy: downloads a self-contained HTML file. Keep it in your quotes folder. Double-click that file to reopen it in your browser, edit it and save an updated copy. It works offline.

Back up saved quotes: downloads saved quotes as a JSON backup. Unsaved drafts can be kept with Save editable copy. Use Restore backup to bring them back or move them to another computer.

Seller copy: new quotes default to a bulk offer showing descriptions and the total only. Turn on individual item prices above the editor to show prices; use the checkbox under each item to hide or show that line’s price. The total is always included.

Shop copy: preview, print or export a separate internal copy for creating a purchase in your POS. All included line prices, quantities, descriptions, seller details, notes and the total are shown. Excluded goods appear in a separate reference section marked “Do not enter”. Seller price settings never hide prices on the shop copy.

Exclude / Restore: take an item off the active offer without losing its details or price. Excluded items are kept in editable copies and backups; they are left off the seller’s PDF and purchase total. Restore them whenever the seller decides to include them again.

Quotes have no automatic expiry or time limit. Any price adjustment is made by you.

Press Sync to exchange shared quotes between connected devices. Keep editable copies or backups before clearing browser or app data. Editable files and backups include all prices.

Connect shared quotes

Sync runs only when you click Sync. Editing and saving stay local. There is no automatic upload or download.

Already set up on your PC? Import the same connection file and code on this device. Use MAIN, PHONE or STAFF as different device labels. Keep the connection file and code for recovery. Run RUN_SETUP.cmd only for the first server setup.

After connecting, this browser stores quotes encrypted. Its connection key is remembered by this browser, so there is no daily password. Each installed device keeps its own encrypted browser storage. PDFs, editable HTML copies and ordinary JSON backups are readable exports.

Select what the seller agreed to sell. The accepted offer is kept separately from later edits. Recording acceptance does not record payment.

Quiet autofill

Type freely; suggestions are optional. Only saved item/category names are learned. Prices and long descriptions are not learned. Settings and vocabulary join the next manual Sync.

Paste an item list

One item per line, for example 1 fridge, 6 chairs or simply Dining table. Preview and correct the quantities before adding. Prices are never guessed.

Rooms / locations

Optional groups for this quote. Assign each item a room in its Room & condition details. Ungroup goods keeps every item and its reference. Accepted copies retain their agreed room names and order.
